BWV 4 for choir, strings and continuo J.-S. Bach
«Christ gisait dans les liens de la mort»
1. Sinfonia

2. Choeur Christ gisait dans les liens de la mort livré pour nos péchés, il est ressuscité et nous a apporté la vie ; nous pouvons nous en rejoice, praise God, be grateful and sing Alleluia, Alleluia!

3. Duo (alto-soprano) No one in the human race could not conquer death, it comes from our human nature, there is no innocent. That is why death was so quick to grab us and hold us prisoners in his empire. Alleluia!

4. Air (tenor) Jesus Christ, the son of God came among us, he discarded the sin, thereby divesting the death all rights and power. There is nothing left of the dead, it has lost its sting. Hallelujah!

5. Choir It was a strange battle between the dead to life. Life has won the victory, she has destroyed death. The Scripture was revealed: a death removes (engulfs) the other: the death became derision. Alleluia!

6. Air (bass) Here is the true paschal lamb that God proposed: high on the cross, as he burned with an ardent love His blood marks our door! so faith is death at bay. The executioner can not do anything against us. Hallelujah!

7. Duo (soprano-tenor) As we celebrate the great feast in joy and delight of the heart that the Lord provides. He himself is the sun that illuminates his grace our whole being. The night of sin has vanished. Hallelujah!

8. Choral We eat the real cake Easter and we are overjoyed. The old leaven shall not be associated with the word of grace. Christ is our food and it alone will satisfy our being. The believer does not want anything else to live. Alleluia!
